REAL-TIME MEASUREMENT OF COTTON MOISTURE BASED ON CHANGES IN THE DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF THE FIBER
Main Article Content
Abstract
Moisture control of raw cotton is a key factor in ensuring product quality in the light industry and plays an important role at all stages of the technological chain, from primary processing and transportation to warehouse storage. Modern electrical measuring devices based on the analysis of electrical resistance and dielectric properties of the material enable rapid and highly accurate determination of moisture content and can be readily integrated into automated and mechatronic control systems. This study provides a detailed analysis of the physical principles underlying the operation of electrical moisture meters, describes the specific features of their application in cotton processing technologies, examines their advantages and existing limitations, and identifies directions for further improvement. In addition, a module developed by the authors is presented that provides continuous real-time monitoring of cotton fiber moisture directly during the production process.
