Anti-Plagiarism Policy and Plagiarism Checking Rules
For the scientific-technical journal "Digital Technologies in Industry" (SRT)
1. Key Terms
- Plagiarism: Using another author's text, ideas, results, or illustrations without proper citation.
- Similarity Index: The percentage of a text matching other sources.
- Self-citation: Matches with the author's previous works.
- Mosaic plagiarism: Combining fragments from different sources without proper referencing.
- Translation plagiarism: Translating text/images from another language without citing the source.
2. Checking Tools
The SRT journal uses the following systems:
2.1. Mandatory: Antiplag.uz
- The main plagiarism checking tool of the journal.
- Once the manuscript is received, it is checked by the editorial team.
2.2. Additional: International systems
- iThenticate / Turnitin / PlagScan / Ouriginal (Urkund) — used in borderline cases or when international verification is needed.
- Results are considered as supplementary evidence.
3. Threshold Values

4. Checking Process
- Initial Screening: Editorial review for compliance with technical requirements.
- Plagiarism Check: Antiplag.uz (mandatory) and, if necessary, international systems.
- Manual Verification: Review of suspicious parts, checking references.
- Decision: If compliant, moved to peer review; if not, returned/rejected.
- Archiving: Reports stored in OJS; not shared with third parties.
5. Requirements for Authors
- Correct citations and complete bibliography (APA 7 / Harvard / Vancouver — as per journal requirements).
- Direct quotations in quotation marks with full source reference.
- When paraphrasing, keep the meaning but rewrite the expression independently.
- Figures/tables: author-owned or licensed with source indicated.
- Duplicate submission and "salami slicing" are prohibited.
- It is recommended to attach a “Declaration of No Plagiarism”.
6. Guidelines for Reviewers and Editors
- Report percentage is an auxiliary indicator; content assessment is a priority.
- For suspicious parts, leave comments indicating page/line.
- If re-check is needed, the new version is also scanned.
7. Violations and Measures
- Minor: incomplete citations → revision.
- Moderate: mosaic/detailed appropriation → revision with explanation.
- Severe: complete appropriation / translation plagiarism / data fabrication → rejection; organization may be notified if necessary.
- Post-publication: retraction policy is applied.
8. Confidentiality and Data Storage
Plagiarism reports and related files are stored in the OJS system for internal use. Reports are shared only with the editorial team, reviewers (if necessary), and the author(s).
9. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Are all reports published on the website?
No. The policy is public, but reports are stored internally. A sample may be provided upon request.
Which sections are excluded from the report?
Bibliography, formulas, table/figure captions, common phrases, and standard IMRAD elements.
Are there language requirements?
Main text may be in Uzbek, Russian, or English. Abstract and keywords in English are mandatory.
