TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY OF REDUCING EVAPORATION LOSSES DURING TANK STORAGE OF CRUDE OIL AT THE KOKDUMALAK FIELD

Abstract
The paper evaluates evaporation losses of light hydrocarbon fractions from crude oil stored in the RVS-4000 No. 3 product tank at the Kokdumalak oil treatment facility. Annual losses caused by standing breathing, working breathing and reverse breathing were quantified, and the effect of tank filling–emptying frequency was examined. Reflective coating, reflector disk, a sealed internal floating pontoon and nitrogen blanketing were compared. Considering both technical performance and operational feasibility, the sealed pontoon was selected as the preferred option. Combined process optimization can retain 121 tonnes of oil per year and provide an annual economic benefit of USD 56,102, equivalent to UZS 718.106 million.
