DEVELOPMENT OF COMPLEX AND COMBINED TECHNOLOGY FOR OBTAINING ESSENTIAL OIL FROM JUNIPERUS EXCELSA SPECIES (TALL JUNIPERS) AND ECONOMIC EVALUATION

Abstract
When extracting essential oils from Juniperus species (archadosh), the micromorphological structure of the secretory cells, trichomes, and tissues containing essential oils, as well as the zones of oil accumulation, were studied, taking into account the vegetation periods. The essential oils were extracted by steam distillation using the Clevenger apparatus. Physical properties of the essential oils, such as relative density at 20 °C, refractive index, angle of rotation of the plane of polarized light, and solubility in ethyl alcohol, were determined in accordance with the technical requirements of GOST ISO 8897—2017. Comprehensive and combinational technological schemes for obtaining essential oils from Juniperus species were developed, and their economic efficiency was evaluated.
