EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TWO-COMPONENT MINERAL-COMPOSITE CAPSULES FOR ROCK BOLTING IN UNDERGROUND MINE WORKINGS
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study evaluates the effectiveness of two-component mineral-composite capsules used for rock bolting in underground mine workings. The anchorage performance under various mining and geological conditions, the effect of capsule density on anchorage strength, and the principal technical and operational characteristics of mineral-composite and polymer capsules are comparatively assessed. The results indicate that increasing the capsule density from 600 to 2000 kg/m³ increases the anchorage strength from 8.2 to 36.8 MPa. High thermal stability, non-combustibility, applicability in wet boreholes, and long-term retention of anchorage properties are identified as major advantages of mineral-composite capsules over polymer alternatives. The use of 27–30 mm diameter boreholes and the ability to install anchors within 8–10 s are also shown to improve the technological efficiency of the support process. The obtained results demonstrate that two-component mineral-composite capsules are a promising solution for improving the stability and reliability of underground mine workings under complex mining and geological conditions.
