Conflict of Interest Policy
This policy explains how authors, reviewers, and editors must identify and manage interests that could affect, or reasonably appear to affect, scholarly judgment.
Principle and Scope
A conflict of interest may be financial or non-financial. It exists when a relationship or competing interest could reasonably influence the research, its interpretation, peer review, or an editorial decision. Disclosure enables transparent assessment and does not by itself establish wrongdoing.
Interests That Must Be Considered
Relevant interests may include employment, consultancy, ownership or financial holdings, patents, funding, close personal relationships, institutional connections, and competing academic or professional interests.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must disclose all relevant financial and non-financial relationships when submitting the manuscript and must keep the disclosure accurate if circumstances change. Where no competing interests exist, authors should provide a clear negative declaration.
Funding and Sponsor Involvement
Authors must identify financial and material support, relevant grant identifiers, and the funder’s role in study design, data collection, analysis, writing, and the decision to submit. Sponsor restrictions affecting access to data or publication must be disclosed.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers must disclose relationships or competing interests relevant to the manuscript and withdraw from the review when impartiality may be compromised. Confidential manuscript information must not be used for personal or professional advantage.
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors must disclose relevant interests and withdraw from handling or deciding a manuscript when impartiality is compromised. Editorial decisions must remain independent of research sponsorship and publication charges.
Undisclosed Conflicts
A material undisclosed interest will be assessed for its possible effect on the review, editorial decision, or published record. Depending on that assessment, the journal may arrange independent reassessment, publish a correction or other notice, or take action under its corrections and retractions policy.
Reporting a Concern
A concern about a possible conflict of interest should identify the manuscript or article, the person or relationship involved, and any verifiable supporting information. Concerns may be sent to the editorial office at admin@srt-journal.uz.
