SELECTION OF THE OPTIMAL ACOUSTIC LOGGING RESTORATION METHOD FOR THE BUKHARA–KHIVA REGION BY COMPARING REAL AND SYNTHETIC CURVES
Main Article Content
Abstract
The study addresses the reconstruction of missing or low-quality acoustic logging data for the Bukhara–Khiva region. The objective is to compare two approaches to synthetic acoustic curve construction, namely the Zalyaev and Faust methods, and to identify the approach providing the closest agreement with the original data from a reference well. Well logging data stored in a LAS file were processed using the Kamerton software. A synthetic curve was generated for each method and compared with the original acoustic curve using graphical analysis and correlation coefficients. The Zalyaev method produced a correlation coefficient of 0.84, whereas the Faust method yielded 0.88. The results indicate a closer agreement between the reconstructed and original curves when the Faust approach is applied. The study also emphasizes the need to account for changes in formation properties with depth, including the compaction gradient. The obtained results can be considered for reconstruction of acoustic data in other wells of the studied field provided that pronounced lateral variability is absent.
