GEOCHEMICAL SPECIALIZATION OF THE OHAKTOSH AND KARASAY DEPOSITS OF THE DAUGIZTAV ORE FIELD
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article presents a comprehensive geological, petrographic, mineralogical, and geochemical study of the Ohaktosh and Karasay deposits within the Daugiztav ore field of the Central Kyzylkum region. The investigation included petrographic and mineralogical examination of polished sections, ICP-MS analysis, and fire-assay determination of gold. Carbonaceous schists, schistose siltstones, carbonate limestones, cataclasites, and rocks of the oxidation zone were identified within the study area. The main ore minerals include pyrite, arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite, galena, sphalerite, stibnite, and other sulfides. Geochemical data indicate Au concentrations of 2.0–7.6 g/t, with elevated gold values generally accompanied by increased As and Sb contents. A distinct positive correlation was identified between Au and As. Vertical zonation of ore mineral assemblages was established at the Ohaktosh deposit, while the oxidation zone extends to depths of approximately 3–15 m. The obtained results indicate a hydrothermal-metasomatic style of mineralization close to the orogenic type and are significant for assessing the metallogenic potential of the Daugiztav ore field and planning exploration at deeper levels.
