FEATURES OF THE GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE AND OIL AND GAS PROSPECTS OF THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE SYRDARYA DEPRESSION
Main Article Content
Abstract
The data on the lithological and stratigraphic characteristics of the sections, the features of the geological structure and the possible oil and gas potential of the Syrdarya depression are presented. The analysis of the main geological factors provides the basis for a positive assessment of the prospects for oil and gas potential of poorly dislocated and practically non-metamorphosed terrigenous, terrigenous-carbonate, carbonate and volcanogenic formations of the Upper Devonian and Lower Carboniferous, composing a quasi-platform complex. Further prospects for the oil and gas potential of the Syrdarya depression are associated with the Upper Paleozoic quasi-platform complex.
