Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the lithological composition, bedding characteristics, and facies variability of Devonian deposits widely distributed in the Quljuqtov Mountains. Particular attention is paid to the mineralogical and petrographic composition of terrigenous, carbonate, and volcanogenic rocks, as well as to their structural–matrix features and stratigraphic position. Rhythmic alternation of layers, facies zonation, and the characteristics of organogenic rock formation within the Devonian deposits are interpreted in close connection with the paleogeographic conditions of sedimentation. The obtained data indicate that during the Devonian period shallow-marine, deltaic, and reef-platform environments successively predominated in the study area. In addition, the relationship between sediment accumulation processes and tectonic activity and volcanism is substantiated on a scientific basis. The results of the study contribute to the reconstruction of the geological evolution of the Devonian complex of the Quljuqtov Mountains, the determination of its position within the stratigraphic framework, and a deeper understanding of the stages of paleogeographic development of the region. The conclusions of the research are of significant scientific importance for regional geology, stratigraphy, and paleogeography.
