Abstract

The increasing global demand for copper necessitates the development of efficient technologies for processing oxidized and mixed copper ores. This study aims to determine the role of oxidized ores in global copper ore reserves, comparatively analyze modern processing technologies applied at the world's largest porphyry copper deposits, and evaluate their applicability to the Kalmakyr deposit. The research employed a systematic literature review, comparative analysis, and an analytical-synthetic approach. The results indicate that the mineralogical composition of the Kalmakyr oxidized ores is generally similar to that of major porphyry copper deposits worldwide. However, the presence of economically significant gold and silver contents together with the predominance of oxidized copper minerals requires the adaptation of existing foreign technologies to local geological and mineralogical conditions rather than their direct implementation.
