Abstract

The article examines the spatial distribution patterns of gold mineralization in the Aytim ore field and the structural, lithological, and hydrothermal-metasomatic factors controlling its localization. The study is based on a 1:1,000 geological-structural map, 1:500 cross-sections, 18 reference profiles, trench and drill-hole data, and previously obtained exploration materials. The main mineralized zones show a persistent spatial relationship with northeast-trending tectonically weakened zones striking approximately 55–60°. Ore-body thickening, branching, and local high-grade Au shoots are preferentially associated with bends, intersections, junctions, and reactivated fault segments. The “structural-wave” working model indicates an asymmetric distribution of mineralization between flank and apical positions; however, it is regarded as a local exploration model rather than a universal rule. Structural permeability is considered the principal control, whereas the mechanical and physicochemical properties of terrigenous-shale and carbonaceous rocks, together with silicification, sericitization, chloritization, carbonatization, and sulfide mineralization, acted as additional factors favorable for local gold deposition.
